A Rodgers Organ will be used for the performance of Lauridsen’s, Lux Aeterna  again this season.

The last time the Grant Park Chorus performed this work, was in June of 2003 at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica using a Rodgers all-digital organ.

The program was reviewed by John von Rhein in the Chicago Tribune.  “Thomas Weisflog … provided the fine organ accompaniments to both choral pieces….  Both Weisflog and the church’s splendid pipe organ did the music justice.”

We are humbled that the Chicago Tribune Music Critic did not know he was listening to a Rodgers Digital Organ at the Basilica, especially since three days earlier (6/23/2003) he reviewed a program at Ravinia in which he referred to the competitors’ instrument there as a “fine … electronic instrument.”   Rodgers has always been, and continues to be, “THE SOUND CHOICE.”
