Juilliard Chair Speaks about Hazel Wright Organ
World famous organist, Paul Jacobs, visits Christ Cathedral
Paul Jacobs, Grammy award winning organist and Chair of Juilliard School’s Organ Department, recently visited the Christ Cathedral Campus to experience the Hazel Wright Organ first-hand.
Jacobs praises the Hazel Wright Organ as one of the “great organs of the world” that has the potential to spiritually impact those who have the opportunity to experience it. The organ not only has value in the liturgical life of the Church but cultural value in the secular domain as well. Jacobs agrees there is a great need to restore the organ for it to be played at its fullest potential. Once restored, the Hazel Wright Organ will continue to influence generations of listeners to come.
