Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chicago presents its annual Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols on This beautiful liturgy provides opportunity for reflection through the singing of Advent hymns, carols and anthems, readings from Holy Scripture, prayer and meditation. Led by the Holy Trinity Choir and Strings under the direction of Minister of Music David Brackley, music will include Gloria from the Twelfth Mass (formerly attributed to Mozart), There shall a star come out of David (from Christus) by Felix Mendelssohn, and a haunting new setting of Charles Wesley’s text O thou who camest from above with music by British composer Philip W. J. Stopford.
Admission is without charge – a free-will offering will be received.
