Last Sunday, British Composer Philip Stopford conducted the World Premiere of his new choral work “Jesus Christ Today Is Born.”  The event took place at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL at their annual  Lessons & Carols Service. The event included church choirs from St. Petronille Catholic Church (Glen Ellyn), First Presbyterian Church (Glen Ellyn), Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Lombard) and St. Paul Lutheran Church (Wheaton).  The new work was commissioned by Ben Calacci, a long-time member of the St. Michael Choir.  Pictured is Philip Stopford (center) with the choir and the Rodgers hybrid console behind him.

The audience included the largest crowd to date.  Music Director, Chris Orf, was pleased to see Fred Schuster (Architect of the new Church) in attendance and thanked him for the magnificent acoustics that makes a program of this type possible.  Triune Music is also proud to play a large part in the success of these programs after having designed and installed their world-class 4-manual Rodgers Organ.  This instrument incorporates 39 ranks of windblown pipes with over 1,500 sampled voices from three of the world’s leading digital music firms.   Soli Deo Gloria!
