Released in time for Christmas gifting…… a CD by Chicago’s Spectacular Gargoyle Brass. Half of this CD was recorded in the amazing acoustic of St. Michael Church in Wheaton which houses a large Rodgers Hybrid Organ.
This recording made it to Lisa Flynn’s (WFMT 98.7) page of NEW RELEASES and has my highest recommendation for new, creative works for organ and brass.

Chicago Gargoyle Brass & Organ Ensemble

The Chicago Gargoyle Brass began in 1992 as a chamber group of faculty and students at the University of Chicago, whose campus architecture boasts a charming variety of the ensemble’s namesake. Over the years, the group transformed itself into a specialized brass and organ concert ensemble comprised of classically trained musicians, performing a wide variety of repertoire in an equally diverse range of settings.

Approximately half of this CD was recorded on the Rodgers Hybrid Organ at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL.
